Tours by boat on Portugal's Algarve coast
Benagil Sea Cave Tour is probably one of Portugal's most famous spots, and for a good reason. Famous for its social media-talked-about photography, it soon became one of the Algarve's most visited natural attractions. We combined Benagil Caves Tours from Lagos with exploring other beaches in the area. It was easily the best day of the Algarve itinerary.
I was worried that Benagil Cave Boat Tour Algarve would be spectacular. Reality a moment in the photo, but it wasn't personal. I'm glad I made a mistake.
Benagil Cave Tour From Vilamoura in the Algarve is a huge sea cave with a hole in the ceiling and a door that opens directly into the sea. It is a beautiful natural formation that deserves a spot on your Portuguese bucket list.
This guide has everything you need to know when visiting Benagil Cave. This includes directions to Benagil Cave, the best tours to Benagil Cave, the best time to visit, tips from my experience and more!
The Best Benagil Cave Tour has two entrances facing the sea and a large hole in the ceiling. The cave also has a small beach where you can walk, step into the ocean and enjoy this magnificent ocean cave.
The cave's walls are lined with various colours of gold and amber rocks, which tell the story of thousands of years of sea and wind erosion. It's a breathtaking display of natural beauty. We stayed in Lagos and loved it, even though it was the farthest city.
It takes about an hour by car from Lagos to Benagil Cave, but the town is very cute and close to Pontada Piedade and other wonderful Algarve beaches.
The Algarve is nearby, just from Benagil, and is a great place for young travellers looking for a party. There is a beautiful beach in front of the town, known as a party destination. Portimao is also accessible by car from Benagil. This is an excellent starting location for many Benagil boat and kayak trips mentioned above.
Some people attempt to visit Benagil Cave on a day trip from Lisbon, but it's not worth it in my view. You'll be driving back and forth for far longer than you'd want, Benagil. After seeing its beauty for yourself, you will understand why. The large open hole at the top of the vast sea cave has a bright blue sky from above and a sandy beach below, with two different entrances on the sides. It includes how to get there, the best time to visit, and more.
